ETCHING

I had my first etching workshop. If I'm not mistaken, that was variation of aquatinta technique. I made two plates with soft and hard grounds, as they have different effects on printing. Some of my course mates made notes on all steps of process, In the end of workshop I regret that I didn't. There were huge amount of suggestions essential to follow. I spent almost nine hours at printing studio to produce just four prints. Behind those photos there are plenty of preparation.

EAST LONDON MORNINGS

I have been recently involved into East London Mornings project. That is non-profit publishing project with intentions to create the guide of best places for morning coffee at Hackney. I was asked to draw illustration for nice and cozy place CREPERIE DU MONDE. I'm very into places with wooden tables, country style dishes and small lovely details. I've checked some other recommended spots, all of them have warm peaceful atmosphere and something special what is difficult to describe. I believe that the rest of places have also that unique charm of East London. So I can highly recommend East London Mornings guide.

20 FACES PROJECT

I had my first project at university. We were given a list of emotions and seven days, in the end of that time we had to choose 20 faces and to draw them on A1 sized paper. One of them had to be done on separate sheet.
At first it was a bit scary to draw in large scale, haven't done it for a while. However, I found it useful, as there are more space for details.

RANDOM

I got good advise from my tutor, actually to draw something completely unrelated to your big project. Anyway it is also essential not to forget about main things.

When I watch on somebody's face I spot random details before I save it in my mind.
I have quite good ability to remind faces and have disgusting memory for names.
I found a folder with pictures of vintage perfume bottles on my computer which
I've made at small perfume museum at Barcelona. Didn't find better use for them yet.

DRAWING FROM LIFE

I was suggested to draw more on locations and from life. Monmouth coffee shop at Borough market with endless flow of people was right place to start.

LONDON, ONE YEAR MORE

So, it seems that I'll stay here at my place at London for one more year. Going to see the end of SHARD construction process from my window.

KNOLE PARK

The trip to Knole park seems to me happened so long time ago. Anyway, now in the middle of summer, it's funny to remind that rainy and cloudy weekend. If I would see the same deers at zoo they barely brought up so much emotions in me as it has happened at Knole park fields. They were so close to us, we could even touch them.  However, I wouldn't dare do that because of they fragile and wild look.

MADAME ARLETTE

Unfortunately this time on my trip to Paris I haven't visited lovely Mme Arlette at her tiny Le Petit cafe. I hope she is still doing well. Stylish, busy and well dressed every single day.

WINDOWS OF KADRIORG

It was the place where I've grown up, vast park with trees a couple hundred years old and dozen wood houses. At first glance they seem to be quite the same, but if you spend more time you will notice some slavic patterns, some northern simplicity and million stories.  Houses are changing constantly by getting complete renovation or continue being damaged by nature. Anyway it is the place where I belong.

TALLINN IN MY SKETCHBOOK

Was it coincidence or friday 13, but my flight London-Tallinn had plenty of empty seats. Anyway I didn't complain.

That small cafe in old town of Tallinn is full of tiny details and hidden beauty.

My hometown as it is.
