5 YEARS

Five years ago I moved to London. So far it was greatest thing that happened to me in whole life.

HACKNEY MAP

Early this May, I ran my 7th half-marathon. After each run, I was fascinated by the idea of putting my memories and impressions onto paper. Finally, after finishing the RunHackney half-marathon this month, I managed to turn my intensions into a real map.

This race is just two years old and I completed it both times. So, RunHackney is the only half marathon I have completed twice. I was always worried that running the same route could be a bit boring. But, it wasn't! All the way, I was comparing my memories from last year with what I saw right this time. By coincidence, most of my time in London has been spent living in the borough of Hackney. I've seen plenty of streets and places many times, but all of them were in my head as different pieces of a puzzle, but with no connection to each other. On this run, all of those pieces came together to form the complete jigsaw puzzle. It¹s fascinating how the city can shrink when you run through so many places within just a couple of hours! Running this half marathon was the perfect way to see the area where I live from a different angle. I'm already looking forward to standing on the start line in the spring of 2016.

2014 my most documented year so far. 365 days - 365 pictures.On 1st of January I decided spontaneously that going to make every day a picture and post it on instagram. I didn't believe that this going to be finished, a couple of times i nearly gave up. But now I see that the year was pretty good!#my_visual_diary_365

KINGS CROSS

Entry for The Prize for Illustration 2015 competition, organized in partnership with London Transport Museum. The theme of this year is London Spaces and Places.

 

Six of eleven tube lines run through Kings Cross station, making it busiest traffic vessel of London.

BLACKALL STUDIOS EXHIBITION

I've been recently involved into group exhibition organised by my enthusiastic university mates. Works of almost 60 talented illustrators could be seen in one room. Exhibition will be open until April of 17, come along east London to see this show. More info here: http://www.fromtheloomroom.com/

EAST LONDON MORNINGS

I have been recently involved into East London Mornings project. That is non-profit publishing project with intentions to create the guide of best places for morning coffee at Hackney. I was asked to draw illustration for nice and cozy place CREPERIE DU MONDE. I'm very into places with wooden tables, country style dishes and small lovely details. I've checked some other recommended spots, all of them have warm peaceful atmosphere and something special what is difficult to describe. I believe that the rest of places have also that unique charm of East London. So I can highly recommend East London Mornings guide.

DRAWING FROM LIFE

I was suggested to draw more on locations and from life. Monmouth coffee shop at Borough market with endless flow of people was right place to start.

LONDON, ONE YEAR MORE

So, it seems that I'll stay here at my place at London for one more year. Going to see the end of SHARD construction process from my window.
